So, here I am on Spring Break and loving every minute of it. I know what many people say about teachers and our breaks, but until you are in our shoes you will never understand the absolute need for this break. As much as I love each of my students it is in their best interest and mine to have a break from one another. Hopefully we can all come back with new refreshed attitudes and can finish up the year with a bang. Really I just need to get through TCAP testing and I will feel like a million bucks. I am trying very hard not to think about this stupid test that will consume 4 days of my students and my lives but it finds ways to creep into my head. Beginning next week I will have a very consistent prayer each night. I will pray for my students and their brains and pray that we all successfully make it through this long test.
On the other hand these breaks make me realize that I am very glad to have a job. Don't get me wrong I love the time off, but I am not sure I could do this all the time. I turn into one lazy person and there is only so much vacumming and dusting you can do. I miss my coworkers when I am off and realize quickly that work gives me a purpose and a goal to work towards. So here is too my job!! I love working and I love these nice breaks equally as much!!!

I hope 2010 proves to be a great year!!
Well 20o9 has come and gone and I have to say it was a very good year for the Nelson family. Two weddings and a college graduation made the year very fun and eventful!! Lucas and I got married on February 21, 2009 and it was one of the best days of my life. The wedding was amazing and the reception was magical for me!! Two weeks after the wedding we left on our honeymoon. We went on a cruise to Mexico and had a very good time!! We ended 2009 with Lucas' college graduation!! It was a day we had been looking forward to for awhile and it was an awesome time for the whole family!! Lucas and I then celebrated our first Christmas as a married couple. We did a lot of traveling back and forth but in the end it really was so worth it!! We got to spend time with both sides of the family and had a wonderful holiday!!
2010 began slowly but luckily for us has moved in a wonderful direction!! Lucas struggled with finding a job after graduation due to the horrible economy. The concrete industry had taken a huge hit and there were no management jobs to be found. With God's good grace Lucas was offered a job with Sherman Dixie Concrete on February 4, 2010. He will be doing hourly labor work but we are super excited about the oppurtunity to work for a concrete company. We hope that it leads to great oppurtunities later on!! This is the point we are at right now!! We are excited about the months to come and look forward to paying off some school loans and movin on up in the grown up world!! hahaha We want to get our selves really settled and hope to start a family later this year!!
